Check the beginner area before committing to December At the October 8 review, Chamonix tourism planned Savoy’s beginner area for December 19, 2026–March 28, 2027, with dates to be confirmed and subject to snow. Earlier high-mountain or gondola openings do not establish that this practice area or your lesson is available. Before committing to fixed December dates, ask your school for the exact practice area, meeting point, backup plan and booking terms. Compare lodging and lesson quotes around that confirmed plan, rather than treating a valley-wide opening headline as beginner access.

How we choose a tip Official pass and transport pages establish published rules. Community reports help identify useful questions to ask; they describe one person's experience, not today's availability. Every card links to its source. We do not copy paid forecasts or turn social posts into live conditions.
Coverage includes pass decisions and trips in Utah, Colorado, Tahoe, the Northeast, the Pacific Northwest, Western Canada, Japan and the Alps. Review dates describe our research, not a guarantee that a rule is unchanged. Recheck the seller, transport operator or resort before booking.
