RCT lists free Mountain Road Shuttle service between Stowe Village and Stowe Mountain Resort for November 27, 2026 through April 4, 2027. When comparing lodging, check the walk to an actual route stop and the return schedule after skiing or dinner. Our planning tip: compare the whole stay plus transport, rather than the room rate alone. Use RCT's current route schedule and tracker before traveling; service has not started for this winter. RCT also links to ParkStowe for local park-and-ride information. Check that location's current rules before leaving a car, and ask RCT about complimentary paratransit if needed.

In a September 3, 2026 Ice Coast discussion, visitors recommended checking Stowe Motel & Snowdrift for walkability, Innsbruck Inn for room space and breakfast, and Round Hearth for dorm-style rooms near a shuttle stop. These are personal experiences, not current price or amenity guarantees. Use them as a shortlist: confirm the room setup, breakfast charges, exact bus stop and winter service with the property and RCT. A lower room rate farther away may add transport costs. Stowe and Smugglers' Notch sit close together on a map, but Route 108 through the mountain pass closes to vehicle traffic in winter. Smugglers' Notch Resort warns that navigation apps may suggest the closed pass and publishes separate winter directions via Morrisville and Jeffersonville. Before choosing lodging on the other side, price the actual winter drive, fuel and travel time. Use the resort's winter directions and Vermont road updates for your travel date; the seasonal closure is not a live report that the road is closed today.

Ski Vermont lists its 2026/27 Fifth Grade Passport at $40 plus tax, with sales scheduled to open September 9, 2026. Current fifth graders can apply without Vermont or U.S. residency. The digital passport offers three lift-ticket vouchers per participating alpine area, subject to blackouts. Participation is limited to once per student. An adult with their own ticket or pass must accompany the child; one adult can accompany up to two passport holders. Budget adult access separately and allow the usual 2-3 business days for application approval.
