Compare two alternatives for the same ski days. Start with the season ahead, add ski dates to check current weather, check access, then price the whole journey.
Save one comparison in this browser, including partial quotes, exact ski dates, group size, currency and pass choice. It stays on this device. Forecasts and operator records are never saved with your quotes; reload to fetch newer source data. Restore replaces the inputs currently on screen.
Units and time-zone preference stay in this browser. Trip-date forecasts always use the mountain’s local time; budget currency is separate.
Both budgets use USD; convert foreign quotes yourself. Enter totals for the entire group and trip, including taxes and fees. A blank cost is unknown; enter 0 only when confirmed. Changing a mountain clears that option’s budget. No quotes are fetched automatically.

Select November 2026–January 2027. Its period selector counts the issue month as month 1: choose 2–4 month. The link opens the viewer; it does not preselect this period.
Choose Temperature (seasonal mean daily temperature at 2m) and Precipitation (seasonal water total, including rain and snow) separately. Inspect Skill map, then Reliability.
Skill describes past category predictions; reliability compares probabilities with observed frequencies. We have not confirmed that these verification products match the model version and calibration of the fields displayed here. Global reliability combines many locations; it does not validate this ski area or snowfall.
The same model cell also supplies Courchevel (Les 3 Vallees), Val d'Isère-Tignes, La Plagne, Les Arcs, Alpe d'Huez, Les Deux Alpes, La Clusaz, Megève, Flaine (Grand Massif), Courmayeur Mont Blanc. These are shared regional odds, not independent resort forecasts.
Regional temperature and precipitation signals, not snowfall totals or your ski-week forecast. NOAA percentages are lower edges of probability bands; equal chances favors no category. CanSIPS uses a coarse 1° grid, and rounded percentages may not sum to 100. NOAA bands and CanSIPS category probabilities use different displays; do not rank mountains by comparing those percentages.
Check the base, terrain and return route
For fixed December dates or a mixed-ability group, check the operator’s planned beginner terrain, lesson availability, linked lifts and the route back to your actual village. A high-elevation weather point does not confirm a valley return piste will open.
Compare car-free transfer times, the last return connection and lodging’s last mile against driving, parking and gear transport. Enter the whole group’s actual quotes in one currency below.
Add your first ski day above to check weather for this trip.
Weather checks keep your budget quotes. No forecast is saved with the comparison.
MET shows temperature and wind at each window’s start. Liquid precipitation is not converted to snowfall. MET field definitions ↗ Forecasts change and do not establish lift openings or terrain conditions.
Pass context is for one skier; your group may hold different passes. Enter the group’s confirmed lift cost below. A pass selection does not automatically make that cost zero.

Official sourceAsk your Chamonix host for the valley train cardRead tip & sources
Chamonix tourist accommodation hosts provide a guest card on arrival. While valid, it covers Mont-Blanc Express travel between Servoz and Vallorcine. Ask before buying duplicate local train tickets, and check the timetable for your dates. Airport transfers and journeys beyond that section are a separate cost.
Official sourceA Chamonix guest card is not a bus ticketRead tip & sources
Use the guest card to buy eligible discounted multi-day bus passes online or at a kiosk; the driver cannot sell the guest-card rate. Single rides and night buses after 9 p.m. do not receive that discount. A qualifying valid Compagnie du Mont-Blanc ski pass may cover the ride instead—check the exact product before paying twice.
Community experienceChoose a Chamonix base around the skiing and the bus stopRead tip & sources
In a car-free trip discussion, skiers suggest comparing Argentière with lodging near Chamonix Sud, depending on the ski areas and airport connection you want. Treat those as starting points: check the actual stop, walk in ski boots, transfers and return service for each room. Community reports do not guarantee a seat or this winter’s timetable.
Official sourceCheck the beginner area before committing to DecemberRead tip & sources
At the October 8 review, Chamonix tourism planned Savoy’s beginner area for December 19, 2026–March 28, 2027, with dates to be confirmed and subject to snow. Earlier high-mountain or gondola openings do not establish that this practice area or your lesson is available. Before committing to fixed December dates, ask your school for the exact practice area, meeting point, backup plan and booking terms. Compare lodging and lesson quotes around that confirmed plan, rather than treating a valley-wide opening headline as beginner access.
Official sourceMatch a beginner ticket to the lesson’s named liftsRead tip & sources
Ask your instructor which area and lifts the lesson will use before buying full-area access. The operator lists ground-level Savoy and La Vormaine separately from Plateau 2000 via Planpraz and the Flégère/La Trappe beginner area. At review, the two high-area beginner rates were available only at the ticket office with proof of lessons with an instructor. Confirm the applicable 2026/27 product, required proof, ascent and descent, and access needed when progressing beyond those lifts. Compare the whole party’s quotes; a beginner ticket is not automatically access to every valley sector.
Official sourcePrice the child’s full lesson day at the correct meeting pointRead tip & sources
ESF Chamonix’s reviewed Flocon–Étoile d’Or group-lesson page says lift access is separate unless it is included in the package you actually book. Confirm the child’s level, dates, meeting point and whether the group will run, then obtain the lift, equipment, lunch or childcare and travel costs before comparing. Its options include different valley and altitude meeting points, so check the selected course rather than assuming every lesson meets at Savoy. A displayed 2026/27 calendar does not establish a bookable slot. Other schools and lesson programs can bundle differently.
