This independent view maps a current 15-day ECMWF Open Data IFS signal at the nearest 0.25° model cell near each listed mountain. It is a planning cue, not observed snow, base depth, lift status, terrain access, road advice, or a skiability call.

Read this first

A falling flake means a positive source signal—not a promise.

The map uses ECMWF's accumulated snowfall-water-equivalent field only to classify source windows. It publishes labels instead of resort snowfall amounts, and it makes no elevation adjustment from the model cell to a mountain.

Positive and major labels are deliberately limited to the current 15-day model window. For current operations, conditions, closures, roads, or safety information, use a resort's official notices.

What the map classifies—and what it refuses to infer.

One model cell near each place

Each marker is anchored to a catalogued location and represents the nearest regular latitude/longitude ECMWF grid cell. It is not adjusted for a resort's elevation or terrain.

Signals, not depths

The worker differences daily cumulative source values to classify a positive or major model signal. The public map does not convert that source field into resort snow-depth or accumulation claims.

Current window only

A source snapshot has a short freshness boundary. If it expires or cannot be validated, this page withdraws its map instead of retaining a stale view or borrowing data from another model.
