Published access summary: The dated Base snapshot lists 15 published unlimited destinations and 5-day access at other groups. Its official record divides Base destinations into blackout-free and blackout-restricted groups, and separately lists exclusions.

Decision read: The saving works only after the exact destination group, day limit, holiday dates, and exclusions all fit your plan.

1. Find the Base destination group before using the savingIkon Base does not have one universal holiday rule

In the official Base record, unlimited destinations with no published ikon base blackout dates and unlimited destinations with northern peak-date restrictions are different product rows. The planner's audited mapping puts Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain, Winter Park, and Solitude in the former, while Mammoth and Palisades Tahoe sit in the latter. A named Base destination is not enough; its group matters.

The mapping is intentionally limited to source-audited planner destinations. Check Ikon's current access record if a mountain is not listed here.

2. Keep day limits separate from exclusionsA different trip date cannot turn an excluded mountain into Base access

The published Base table has both five-day destinations with no published ikon base blackout dates and five-day destinations with northern peak-date restrictions, plus the separate thredbo five-day access with southern school-holiday restrictions. Those 5-day access groups are a different question from the Base product snapshot's exclusions of Jackson Hole, Alta, Snowbasin, Deer Valley, and Sun Valley. In the current official core record, Full also makes Crystal Mountain, Schweitzer, and Steamboat unlimited while Base has five-day access; it gives seven days across Aspen Snowmass while Base is Snowmass-only for five days.

Add the exact mountains and days once in the calculator; it makes documented caps and ticket spillover visible instead of assuming a fresh allocation.

A holiday label alone cannot decide Base access.

The northern Base restricted groups list Dec. 26–30, 2026; Jan. 16–17, 2027; Feb. 13–14, 2027. That row does not apply to every Base destination: the current table also has blackout-free unlimited and five-day groups. Thredbo has its own Jul. 4–19, 2026; Jul. 3–18, 2027 school-holiday dates. A date outside a listed window is not an access, reservation, or operating guarantee.
